Always purchase a computer system that can be upgraded later on. At times, it makes more sense to buy a middle-of-the-road computer and upgrading memory as needed than to buy a super-expensive state-of-the-art model. Economically, you'll be doing better by purchasing a medium-priced one and upgrading as needed.
To find out how much memory is installed on your PC (if you are running Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT), right-click My Computer and select Properties from the menu. Make sure the General tab is selected and look for the RAM value at the bottom of the Computer section.
